Shawn Stern was born in the summer of 1977 in Los Angeles, California. He holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of California, Los Angeles. He has a propensity towards naming his pets after dead writers and philosophers and has dropped out of every fiction writing class he has ever enrolled in. He lives in his hometown of Malibu, California.
